H. Ameeta Singh

H. Ameeta Singh, M.A., LMFT# 50409, is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, with extensive experience providing community-based services both in the United States and overseas.   She is originally from Fiji and is of South Asian descent. Her clinical expertise is built on a foundation of 20+ years of community-based case management and program development experience, primarily within communities of color.  Ameeta draws on her own experiences as an immigrant woman of color in working with trauma in its many forms, particularly, intergenerational, incarceration & immigration related trauma. She has had a private psychotherapy practice in the Bay Area since 2007; and has provided consulting, trainings and clinical supervision services for a variety of community-based organizations and academic institutions in the Bay Area.  

In 2007 Ameeta was invited by the S.Q. T.R.U.S.T. to develop a curriculum addressing trauma and healing for long term incarcerated men at San Quentin State Prison. She facilitated a weekly group with the men of the San Quentin community based on this curriculum from 2008-2018.  Additionally, she has facilitated a strength circle for people returning home after long term incarceration; and a support group for surviving family members of people who have been killed by the police.  For further information please visit her website: www.healingchange.org or email her at
